    Text: Acts 2:38-47; Acts 5:12-16; Habakkuk 3:2
    Prayer Concerns:
    1. Our goal for this event is the Salvation of the Lost
    • We want to let the community know that we are not just a charitable institution or a religious group, but we want them to know about Christ
    • Make it our goal to bring one soul to Christ during this event
    • Pray for a receptive heart; a heart hungry for God; open heart for the gospel
    • Everyone will be drawn to Christ
    1. Every volunteer’s heart is for the salvation of the lost
    • A joyful heart as we do our part
    • A servant's heart
    • The courage and the wisdom on how to communicate to the people
    1. First, talk about relevant issues
    2. Second, pray for an opportunity to share the love and power of God
    3. We don't talk about membership in the church but let them know that the church is here to pray and help the community in any way we can.
    1. Pray for the event
    • Protection
    • Many people would be able to come

Reaching Out Our Community As A Church
    Series: (All)
Text:  Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” 2 Corinthians 6:2 – for He says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, And on the day of salvation I helped you”; behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation “ Matthew 9:37-38 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. “Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” Acts 1:8 – but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”   The Church Mandated to Bring Christ to the world
    1. The church as the light of the world.
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14-16, ESV
    1. The church as the bearer and messenger of Good News.
Isaiah 40:9 Get yourself up on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news, Lift up your voice mightily, O Jerusalem, bearer of good news; Lift it up, do not fear Say to the cities of Judah, "Here is your God!" Isaiah 52:7How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace And brings good news of happiness, Who announces salvation, And says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
    1. Principles we can learn from Luke 9 & 10
    2. Proclaim the good news
    3. Heal the sick
    4. They were sent in pairs
    5. We bring peace to every house we enter- if we're given the opportunity to share the love of Christ, just do it but those who oppose, we don't argue with them, we don't involve ourselves in a debate.
    6. Do not get offended when we're not welcome- let the peace of God remain in our hearts
    7. They reported about what the Lord has done through them. Lk. 10:17  "The 72 returned with joy and said, "even the demons submit to us in your Name."
III:  The Church believes in the power of prayer. Acts 4:29-30 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

Four Things to Remember In The Midst of the Storm

I read one time about how shipbuilders back in the days of sailboats would prepare the masts for their ships.  They would go to the forest and find an appropriate tree, then they would clear out all the surrounding trees and leave that one standing, leaving it exposed to the wind and storms.  As the tree continued to mature, it would gain strength. The kind of strength it would need to be able to stand up in the storms at sea while holding a large sail.  But that tree would never gain that strength if it was just left among the other trees. It developed strength because of the storms I:  Remember:  The Lord loves us. Ephesians 1:4-6 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. The ultimate love was shown and given when Jesus died on the cross for our salvation. …But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). II:  Remember to hold on to our integrity. III:  Remember not to lose hope. IV:  Exalt God, Praise God in the midst of the storm. James 1:2-4  Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Romans 5:3-5 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 1 Peter 1:6-7 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

    The God Of The Storm
    Series: (All)
    Text: Job 41-42
    I. God is beyond understanding and His ways unfathomable. “Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back? For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.” Romans 11:33-36 “Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens above—what can you do? They are deeper than the depths below—what can you know? Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea. (Job 11:7-9 NIV) Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone— while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? (Job 38:1-7 NIV) How great is God—beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out. (Job 36:26 NIV) Reasons why we can't understand all of God's ways: ( Fred Sigle- Garfield Christian Church)
    1. To understand God is to make Him my equal
    2. To understand God is to make him small
    3. To understand God is to limit him
What happens to us when we know that our God is beyond understanding?
    1. It causes us to worship Him
    2. It reminds us of our humble state
    3. It gives us hope for eternity
II:  God is able to restore what the devil has stolen from us "double". Job 41:7-17;  1 Samuel 30::7-20
